Ocular Hypertension and Glaucoma monitoring
Glaucoma has been called ‘the thief of sight’ as you can lose your peripheral (side) vision without realising it until it is too late. It is important to have regular check ups that include:
Examining the eye – specifically for optic nerve damage
Scan of RNFL (layer of retina destroyed in glaucoma)
Goldmann pressure testing
Visual fields test
Assessment/advice and change in medication as needed
Preparation of a management plan
