What is a consultant ophthalmologist (eye surgeon)?
Ophthalmologists are medically trained doctors who care for patients with eye conditions. They diagnose, treat and prevent disorders of the eyes and visual system using a blend of medicines, surgery and cutting edge technology.
All of our doctors at Midlands Eye Care are NHS consultant eye surgeons. They treat all eye conditions including cataracts, but have specialist interests and expertise in the management and treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and corneal conditions.
